In today’s fast-moving environment, creativity is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. The pressure to innovate, solve complex problems, and reach audiences in meaningful ways requires structured thinking, inclusive collaboration and the ability to turn raw ideas into real-world impact.
We believe creativity thrives best not in chaos, but within clearly defined processes that help teams generate, share and refine ideas. These methods are adaptable and can be integrated into any marketing, communications or project planning cycle.
We have devised and collected a series of quick-fire ideation activities designed to unlock your team’s collective creativity and to channel that into actionable insights. The goal is not to produce polished ideas immediately but to generate volume, variety and initial thinking. They also help shift creativity from being seen as a ‘nice-to-have’ to a core part of business planning.
Here at Touch, we have developed several creative sessions that are designed to empower teams, encourage self-organisation and move from idea generation to action. They can be used in sessions for individuals from different organisations or as part of a team building and problem-solving approach.
We recently delivered another learning and development session for Essex County Council on the importance of creative play. Our creative leads took participants through several sessions, each developing and building upon their ability to be creative. Based around the scenario of a litter-picking campaign, we initially got delegates thinking about creative tactics for different age group audiences, before encouraging the use of design thinking via drawing and doodles, finishing with the encapsulation of their creative campaign using the device of lorry livery.
Such ways of thinking through difficult issues can provide a process for stimulating creativity as opposed to simply waiting for inspiration to strike.
